If you look at the numbers, it tells a story. There are two separate categories which determines each state's rank. There are the “Home Energy Efficiency” and “Car Energy Efficiency”categories. In Wyoming which scored the best? I'll give you a hint, the weather plays a large role.
Home Energy Efficiency – Wyoming 13 of 48
Car Energy Efficiency – Wyoming 47 of 48
Wyomingites are more efficient in their homes then their cars. Homes in the Cowboy State have to stand up to the harsh winters and hurricane strength winds. Our cars have to be able to travel through those harsh winters and Wyoming winds. That gives us the incentive to get better insulation and get those new windows to keep the house warm in winter. As for the automobile, it is nice to drive something with 4-wheel-drive. Plus it needs to be able to hall the boat and/or camper.
