The city of Cheyenne Sanitation Division will hold a free household hazardous waste collection day from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. tomorrow (Sunday June 8) at the Solid Waste Transfer Station, 220 North College Drive.

The city's Household Hazardous Waste Facility is currently closed while a new facility is being built.

Items accepted at Sunday's event include pesticides, motor oil, household cleaners, antifreeze, solvents and oil-based paint. Items that will not be accepted include e-waste (such as computers), appliances, latex paint and tires.  Motorists will not be allowed to get out of their cars for safety reasons, but sanitation workers will unload the waste.

Reservations are not needed for the event, which will be conducted on a first-come, first serve basis.
