House Votes To Block Healthcare Subsidies

U.S. Representative Cynthia Lummis (R-WY) voted with the majority of the House, 235 to 191,  to pass H.R. 2775, the No Subsidies without Verification Act. The bill would prevent any spending on subsidies under the Affordable Care Act, projected to start in January 2014, until a process is put in place to verify the income and eligibility of people receiving those subsidies. Rep. Lummis said the  “ the administration is so desperate to get people to sign up to Obamacare that they are willing to put billions of tax dollars at risk in a broken program.
