The Chicago Cubs win the World Series. It's been 108 years and most all of us were not around. 1908 was the last time they won the series and they folks were alive to see it.

There were a lot of things going on back in 1908 in America. 1908 brought us the first U.S. Postal Stamps to be bought in rolls and the 46th star was added to the American flag, as Oklahoma became a part of the Union.

Here are some of the people that were alive when the Cubs won the World Series 108 years ago.

  • Geranimo - He just barely made the Cubs win as he passed away in 1909, at the ripe old age of 79.
  • Mark Twain - His birth name was Samuel Longhorne Clemens, who was also around during the 1908 World Series win by the Cubs. Twain passed away at the age of 74 in April of 1910.
  • Leo Tolstoy - Tolstoy was best known for being a play write, short story writer and novelist in his Russian language. No doubt, his most popular work was War and Peace. He passed away in November of 1910 at the age of 82.
