The Cheyenne office of the National Weather Service has upgraded a High Wind Watch that had been issued for southeast Wyoming to a more severe High Wind Warning.

The service posted this statement on its website on Sunday afternoon:

"A High Wind Warning is in effect for parts of southeastern Wyoming tomorrow into Tuesday. The warning begins mainly west of Interstate 25 Monday morning at 5 AM and continues until 11 AM Tuesday. Strong winds are also expected to spread east into the adjacent plains of far southeast Wyoming for a time Monday, so the High Wind Warning is now in effect for Platte and central Laramie county, including Cheyenne and Wheatland, from 8 AM until 6 PM Monday. Check the WYDOT website for road conditions and potential closures to light, high profile vehicles."
