It's good to know that we live in a community that wants to bring awareness to such a dreadful disease.

Today is the day that those in and around Cheyenne will walk to bring awareness and hopefully bring us a step closer to ending the deadly disease of Alzheimer's. Alzheimer's is a type of dementia that causes problems with memory, behavior and thinking.

According to the Alzheimer's Association, more than half a million seniors die annually from the disease and is now considered to be the 3rd leading cause of death according to a study by scientists, found in the journal Neurology.

Today, August 23, 2014, at 8 a.m., registration for the walk will begin at Holliday Park, by the Gig Boy Steam Engine in Cheyenne Wyoming. The ceremony will begin at 9 a.m. and the actual walk kicks off at 9:15 a.m.
