A winter storm is expected to dump heavy snow on southeast Wyoming this weekend making for hazardous travel conditions.

The National Weather Service in Cheyenne has issued a Winter Storm Watch for most of south and east central Wyoming beginning early Saturday morning.

The Service says the area could see six-plus inches of snow through Sunday. Winds are also expected to pick up late Sunday, resulting in blowing and drifting snow along and east of Interstate 25.

Drivers are being advised to check the weather forecast and road conditions before heading out. The latest road conditions can be obtained by calling 511 or visiting wyoroad.info.
