Alzheimer's disease and dementia, no doubt, has affected all of us in one way or another. Awareness to the disease is being brought to Wyoming to help.  According to Executive Director for the Alzheimer's Association - Wyoming Chapter, Janet Lewis, "These (Alzheimer's) behaviors can lead to frustration and tension, especially between the person with dementia and the caregiver."

She also said it is one thing to misplace your car keys, but is a whole different story if you can't remember what the keys are for. So what can we do?

In the next few months, there will be workshops to help you deal with those who are experiencing this dreaded disease. Tomorrow, Feb 15 at the Laramie County Library from 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm there will be a workshop entitled, "Alzheimer's Disease: Coping with Behavioral Issues."

This is just the start of a journey of education to help you help others who may be dealing with someone with the disease. We hope you will come and bring a friend.

For more information on Alzheimer's and how you can help the chapter in Wyoming, please call Janet at 307-287-6569. Let's help raise awareness and funds to tackle this disease that is affecting over 8000 people in Wyoming.
