Art Hansen (Courtesy Art Hansen)Retired financial planner Art Hansen has declared his candidacy for the Laramie County Commission as a Republican. Hansen says that while he thinks the current commission is basically doing a good job, he does think the city and county governments could have a better working relationship. Hansen also says he thinks his background in financial planning could be helpful at a time when the county is facing funding challenges, which he says could continue until the price of natural gas goes up. Hansen says he thinks another big challenge is managing the Niobrara oil play and it’s impact on county roads and water. Hansen is running for a newly-created open seat on the commission, which carries with it a four-year term.
