About 416 Wyoming National Guard employees are dealing with mandated furloughs due to federal budget cuts. Col. Tammy Maas, Director of Human Resources for the Wyoming Military Department, says the furlough notices went out on July 8th. She says a majority of those furloughed are civilian employees who work in Cheyenne. The cuts do not effect active duty National Guard personnel nor state employees who work for the guard. Col. Maas says the guard has resources available for those employees affected by the furloughs.
