Are you doing anything to celebrate Groundhog Day this year?

Most people will be waiting for the big game to start this Sunday, February 2, but before the Seahawks and Broncos take the field in New Jersey, the groundhog will be in the spotlight in Pennsylvania. If Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow, we'll have six more weeks of winter. We're hoping for a cloudy day on the east coast so we can have an early spring. The Cheyenne Botanic Gardens will explore this unique holiday at the Paul Smith Children's Village on Wednesday, January 29, at 4 p.m. The cost is $1 per child.

Kids will hear the story, 'Brownie Groundhog and the February Fox,' and learn about the traditions of light and land that helped create Groundhog Day.

Then participants will make their own Groundhog Puppet Theater. Maybe that will give the family something to play with on Sunday leading up to the big football game.
