Sweetwater county officials say a Green River man wanted for trying to strangle his girl friend has been captured in Arizona.

Sheriff's Department spokesman Dick Blust says Jared Scott Ramon, 42, was reported to police in January for grabbing his girlfriend  around the neck  and strangling her to the point where she had a hard time breathing, then lost consciousness and fell to the floor, hitting her head. The woman survived the attack but suffered several injuries, according to investigators.

Blust says investigators tracked him to Mesa, Arizona where he was arrested by Mesa police. Sweetwater County authorities are currently seeking Ramon's extradition while he remains in custody in Mesa.
