A green dye is leaking into Crow Creek and giving the creek an early St. Patty's Day vibe.

The green dye that is leaking into the creek is a neon color and looks similar to antifreeze, but it's only dye and fresh water.

The leak is coming from the pipe near Morrie Ave and Fox Farm Rd.

The dye is being used by Holly Frontier in repairs being made to their storage tank at the Cheyenne refinery.  This is simply a test of the tank's structural integrity, prior to putting the tank back into service.

The tank was filled with city drinking water and a non-toxic dye to check the tank for leaks.

Holly Frontier said that they have a permit from the city of Cheyenne to use the dye in their test, including draining the non-toxic mix from their tank and using the pipe which drains into crow creek.
