Governor Matt Mead read a book called, "H is for Honor, A Military Family Alphabet" to fifth grade students at Freedom Elementary School Wednesday. Governor Mead's visit was part of the recognition of the  "Week of the Military Child." The Governor said it is important to recognize the sacrifice the children of military members make.

Some students said they had lived in numerous states--even several countries. When asked how they coped with their parents being deployed, one student said she kept in touch via "Skype," but admitted, "you can't hug on Skype."

According to Freedom Elementary principal Chad Delebridge, between 95 and 98 percent of students at the school have a parent serving in the military.
