[UPDATE] 2:57 P.M.

Wyoming is sending one of its National Guard teams with a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter to Colorado. Governor Matt Mead offered support to Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper earlier today. The helicopter will drop water on the Black Forest fire. Officials say the fire has scorched about 25 square miles and has burned nearly 400 homes and killed two people.

The paperwork authorizing Wyoming help was signed by Secretary of State Max Maxfield who is the acting Governor while Governor Mead is in Canada on a trade mission.

Wyoming recently sent a strike team of firefighters to New Mexico, which is also experiencing large wildfires. Several Wyoming firefighters already have been serving on incident management teams assigned to Colorado fires.
