Governor Matt Mead appointed Harry LaBonde as the next Director of the Wyoming Water Development Office. LaBonde replaces Mike Purcell who retired July 5, 2012. Governor Mead says "water  is one of our most critical resources in Wyoming and the Director of Water Development plays a key role in managing our state’s water resources. "

LaBonde comes to the Water Development Office after serving as Wyoming’s Deputy State Engineer for 9 years. He previously worked for the cities of Riverton and Laramie and in the private sector. LaBonde is a registered, Professional Engineer in Wyoming.

LaBonde’s first day on the job is July 23, 2012.
