FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) — Investigators say a 16-year-old girl who was hit by a train in the northern Colorado town of Wellington was walking on the tracks alone and appeared to be distracted by some sort of electronic device.

The Larimer County Sheriff's Office says Victoria Archibald, of Wellington, was walking with her back to the train when she was struck just before 5 p.m. Monday. Witnesses say she did not respond to the train's warning whistles.

The Larimer County coroner's office identified Archibald on Tuesday and said the death was an accident.
