Gillette Students Arrested for School Threat

GILLETTE, Wyo. (AP) — Two junior high school students have been arrested for making threats to shoot other students at their Gillette school in northeast Wyoming.

The 14-year-old and 15-year-old boys were arrested Wednesday and held in Campbell County jail with charges pending.

Police Lt. Chuck Deaton says both students made numerous statements to others that they were looking for a gun to do a school shooting.

Deaton says they also told other students to wear a red shirt on the last day of school Thursday so they wouldn't be harmed.

He says police learned about the threats after one of the students who overheard them talking told a grandparent, who reported it.
