Gene Autry was one of the biggest Hollywood stars of his time. As a singer and actor, he dominated radio, the silver screen and even made a few television appearances.

In his movie Sunset in Wyoming, he fights a logger who is stripping the mountains of trees without any regard for the land.

He also starred in Home in Wyoming, which was released in 1942. In that movie, he played a man who returned to his home of Gold Ridge Wyoming to try and straighten out his wayward son.

There was no such thing as a Gene Autry movie without him singing a song or three.

Both of the two songs about Wyoming Autry made famous were featured in movies—"The Hills Of Wyoming" and "Somewhere in Wyoming."

He spent a lot of time out this way, and he loved the state.
