Free tickets to the University of Wyoming football game against the U.S. Air Force Academy in Laramie on September 6, 2014 are available to Wyoming veterans.

Veterans can request two tickets per veteran by contacting the Wyoming Veterans Commission. Veterans will need to provide their name, mailing address, phone number and some basic proof of their veteran status. All requests for tickets must be received by the close of business on Aug. 28 and will be awarded on a first come, first served basis.

Tickets will be mailed as the orders are filled and no later than Aug 28. Veterans currently serving in the military should access their free tickets via the VetTix program.

Al Ellefson, chairman of the Wyoming Veterans Commission, said this is a "great way to recognize our veterans' service to our state and nation."

Wyoming veterans, current military personnel, and their family members will also be recognized during a special pre-game on-field ceremony during the annual Military/Veterans Day at the Sept. 6 game. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:15 p.m.

Veterans of all eras and current military personnel will help form the tunnel through which the Cowboy football team will enter the field.
