With the candidate filing period underway in Wyoming since Thursday, four candidates have officially thrown their hats in the ring.

Downtown Development Authority Director Amy Surdam was the first to file, officially jumping into the race on Thursday.

Three more candidates filed on Monday. They include former state legislator Pete Illoway, current city council member Scott Roybal and lobbyist Marian Orr.

Both Orr and Surdam had officially announced their campaigns prior to the filing period, which runs through May 27.

After filing her papers Monday, Orr proposed a series of four debates among the mayoral candidates before the primary election in August.

So far none of the other candidates has officially commented on the debate proposal, and with ten days left in the filing period it's very possible or even likely  that more candidates will officially throw their hats into the ring as well.

Incumbent Mayor Rick Kaysen, who was first elected in 2008, recently announced he won't be running for a third term.
