The Wyoming Department of Health is urging senior citizens who like kids and could use a little extra income to consider the Foster Grandparent Program, according to Department of Health spokeswoman Kim Deti.

She says foster grandparents can serve anywhere between 15 and 40 hours a week spending time with kids, visiting schools or reading to children. Program volunteers receive a $2.65 an hour stipend, which does not count against Social Security or other government income. Laramie County residents interested in the program may call 1-877-579-4722, according to Deti.
