Flaming Gorge Body Recovery Effort Planned

A spokesman for the Sweetwater County Sheriff's Department says that agency is planning to attempt to recover the recently located body of a man who drowned on the gorge in 1997. Dick Blust says 43 year old Richard Herren of Green River fell out of a boat on the gorge on May 4, 1997. Blust says the body was  located on April 28 by Ralston and Associates of Kuna, Idaho, using a specially equipped boat, side scan sonar and cadaver dogs. Ralston was searching for the body at the request of Herren's family. Blust says because the body is at a depth of 130 feet, there are a number of safety hazards involved and the divers will be able to remain underwater for only a limited amount of time. Blust says the recovery dive is currently  scheduled for June.
