The decision came down today, and no action can be taken until next Friday. But some people aren’t wasting any time.

Judge Scott Skavdahl ruled this afternoon, that the state statute banning same-sex marriage will be struck down in the wake appeals court and Supreme Court rulings.

But, he put a hold on the issuing of licenses for gay couples until next Friday, pending any possible appeal from the state.

But the Governor says Wyoming will not appeal the ruling.

One couple has already applied, and are the first in Natrona County.

Dirk Andrews and Travis Gray were first to the County clerk’s office and filled out their application to wed.

But they won’t know for sure until the end of next week if the application will be acted on.
