Fortunately, no one was injured when a fire broke out in northeast Cheyenne this (Thursday) morning.

Cheyenne Fire Rescue spokesman Scott Smith says firefighters were called to a home in the 3100 block of Bluff Place around 9:50 a.m.

"When firefighters arrived on scene the garage portion of the home was fully engulfed in flames, which spread to the living portion of the home," said Smith. "An adjacent house sustained minor damage."

Smith says the lone occupant in the home was able to get out safely, but the fire caused "extensive damage to the residence."

The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
