Laramie County Fire District#2 will hold an open house on Saturday, according to spokesman Lew Simpson.

He says the event is being held in conjunction with National Fire Prevention Week,  which is coming up in October. Simpson says the district decided the hold the open house a week early to take advantage of nice weather.

Simpson says displays at the open house will include a live fire demonstration at 11am and anAirLife of Cheyenne helicopter which will land at noon and remain on display. He says an extrication demonstration will be conducted at 1pm and will feature the district's newest piece of fire apparatus, a brand new 2013 fire engine.

Simpson says other attractions at the open house will include refreshments, prizes and a ''bouncy house" for the kids.The free event is scheduled for 10am until 2pm at the district's main headquarters at 5900 North College Drive.
