Laramie County Fire District #2 was called to 9001 US 30 at approximately 11:00 AM on Saturday March 9, 2013 for a structure fire. Upon arrival crews witnessed active flames coming from the garage.

District 2 spokeswoman Lori Hogan says residents Jeffrey and Judy Reif were at home when they noticed a fire in their garage. They called 911 immediately then evacuated. Firefighters helped rescue several dogs that were in the home and the back yard. No one was injured.

Responding units included two engines, a tower and two tenders from district #2 and a tender from district #1. Incident Commander, Assistant Chief John Sayers, called for assistance due to the high winds, gusting to 47 mph, which accompanied a blizzard warning for Laramie County. AMR and a Laramie County Sheriff were also on scene offering assistance.

Due to the cooperative efforts, firefighters were able to contain the fire to the garage while protecting the home. There was approximately $15,000-20,000 worth of damage to the garage and items contained within. All units were clear of scene by 12:35 PM.
