The Cheyenne City Council Finance Committee is scheduled to consider the eventual sale of property at 206 West Lincolnway to the Children's Museum of Cheyenne on Monday.

The sale would allow the museum project in the area commonly known as "the hole" to move forward. The museum group already owns most of "the hole" but the proposal is to sell the 22 square feet owned by the city for $100 in keeping with a development agreement between the city and the Children's Museum.

The property has been vacant for a decade since a fire destroyed a bake shop that had been located there, and the lot is widely considered an eyesore in downtown Cheyenne.

The full city council will have the final word on the proposed sale.
