The Cheyenne City Council Finance Committee on Monday approved a series of contracts designed to keep the Victim Services Program through the Cheyenne Police Department running. The contracts approved by the committee Monday include agreements with the Wyoming Division of Victim's Services as well as three local employees to implement the program: William Linden, Brenda Johnson and Leslie Burch. The agreements also include roughly $12,000 for victims of crimes. Lt. Monte Allsop of the Cheyenne Police Department says the contracts basically amount to a continuation of the existing Victim Services Program, with the only difference being that the last contracts approved by the city council were for 2 years, while the agreements approved by the Finance Committee Monday were for only 1 year. The contracts still must be approved by the full Cheyenne City Council before being finalized.
