The Cheyenne City Council Finance Committee has given it's approval to a plan to acquire the area occupied by the former Cribbon Trailer Park to add to Pioneer Park. Under the proposal, the city would acquire the almost 53, 000 square foot area from Christensen's Inc. in return for a parcel of of city property measuring 8,450 square feet west of Cribbon Avenue and about $158, 000 to make up the difference in the assessed valuations of the two properties. The money for the purchase would come from the Menards land sale. A public hearing on the proposal is slated for noon on Thursday, and the full City Council still must approve the deal before it can be finalized.
