The latest report on the state economy holds few, if any, surprises.

The Wyoming Economic Indicators [WEI] report for June was issued last week by the state Division of Economic Analysis.

It includes a Wyoming Business Conditions Index [WBCI] which tries to give an overview of the state economy and assigns a score based on those findings.

The June 2016 Wyoming WBCI score was 95.94, a decline from the May 2016 score of 97.18 and also from the June 2015 score of 99.99.

Senior State Economist Jim Robinson says only one of the four main components of the report, visits to the state's national parks, shows improvement compared to a year ago. That's in keeping with strong tourism numbers that have been one of the few bright spots in the state economy recently.

But the other three categories included in the WBCI--unemployment, private sector weekly wages, and sales tax collections- were all down compared to June of 2015.

The report shows Wyoming has lost roughly 8,900 jobs over the past year.
