An early morning crash has claimed at least one life this morning and Troopers are searching the crash scene for additional victims.  The crash occurred near the Vedauwoo Interchange which is approximately 15 miles east of Laramie around 2:30 a.m.

At this time Troopers believe 7 vehicles are involved in the crash with several tractor trailer combinations, two of which have been totally consumed by fire.  Weather conditions at the time of the crash were dense fog and black ice on the roadway.  Speeds had been reduced to 45 mph by WYDOT’s Traffic Management Center.

Two victims have been transported by ambulance to Ivinson Memorial Hospital in Laramie and two victims have been transported by ambulance to Cheyenne Regional Medical Center in Cheyenne.  One of the victims transported to Ivinson has been transferred to a hospital in Colorado. The eastbound road closure will remain in effect for an undetermined amount of time.  The closure affects the eastbound lanes only.
