Disaster drills are fairly common in many professions, but this one is fairly unique.

What would happen if a disaster struck a livestock exhibition or fair?

The University of Wyoming Extension Disaster Education Team is hosting:

FEMA Emergency Management Institute – Virtual Disaster Training Exercise: Agricultural Disaster At Livestock Exhibitions and Fairs

Date/ Time Wednesday June 17, 2015: 9:30a – 2:30p

Location: UW Casper Room 322 (No Walk Ins w/o pre-registration) 125 College Drive Casper, WY.

There is no fee. Lunch will be provided.

Pre-register HERE no later than 4pm on Wednesday June 10.

This event is a group learning-interactive session where a disaster scenario is provided to 15 sites across the United States.

Group participation will be coordinated by the EMI Virtual Training office in Emmitsburg, MD but a local instructor/facilitator will be on site.

Participants at each site will evaluate and respond to the scenario and then compare their results to others across the nation.

The scenario was designed by a national team of university experts with experience in both disaster education and responses to livestock disaster events.

Anyone with interests in livestock, public health, event administration, rodeos, fairs, and other similar events is welcome and encouraged to participate.

Participants will receive certificates from FEMA EMI.
