UPDATE: Albany County Sheriff’s Office reports that bomb teams were called in to the area of Ft. Sanders Rd and West Blackfoot Street, on the report of a car that was possibly rigged with explosives.  Currently the case is being investigated as “Terroristic threats” and is ongoing.  Get the full story here:

UPDATE: As of 2:20 this afternoon emergency vehicles were seen leaving the area and both W. Blackfoot Street and Ft. Sanders Rd are open at this time.  An official statement from the Albany County Sheriff’s Office is expected shortly.

A small area at the corner of W. Blackfoot Street and Ft. Sanders Rd near Laramie was evacuated Thursday.  The evacuation area was near Ace Salvage Enterprises on the 2400 block of Ft. Sanders Rd.

We are currently awaiting an official statement from the Albany County Sheriff’s Office which is expected shortly.

Early witness reports of the incident involving an explosive device have not been confirmed.

Vehicles from the Sheriff’s Office, Wyoming Highway Patrol, Laramie Police Department, as well as Fire trucks and an ambulance were on scene as of 1:30 Thursday afternoon.
