Eric Church Concert Ranks 5th On The Cheyenne Frontier Days Attendance List [PHOTOS]
Eric Church is having a record year and he came close to setting a new CFD record last night. 22,500 fans braved the rain and mud; the fifth-biggest concert crowd in the history of Cheyenne Frontier Days.
Church mentioned the attendance record several times during the show. The country music star also talked about his last visit to CFD in 2011, when his dog was stung by a swarm of bees and nearly died. This year, Church brought his two sons, Boone and Tennesee, to Cheyenne and told the crowd his family was planning to "take a few days off" to spend more time in the area.
Church's 21-song set also included a rare live performance of "These Boots", the ballad of a bull rider who used his cowboy boots to "spur that beast in Cheyenne".
For now, Florida Georgia Line still holds the mark for the CFD's biggest concert. Their 2016 show drew a paid attendance of 25,011. Jason Aldean's 2013 performance ranks second on the list (24,457), followed by George Strait in 2004 (23,736), Tim McGraw in 2014 (23,313). Last night's Eric Church concert (22,500) displaces Strait's 2009 show (22,000) in fifth place.
