“Enzi Express” Stops in Casper [PHOTOS]

Sen. Mike Enzi on Thursday said his 21-community “Enzi Express” campaign tour has kept him busy since it began on Aug. 1.

The three-term incumbent chatted with Wyoming voters over root beer floats at the Casper Meals on Wheels facility in advance of Tuesday’s primary election.

“Rawlins, Laramie, and Douglas today, and I finished up here,” Enzi said. “Now we’ll do two more ice cream socials, and tomorrow we’ll do four ice cream socials.”

Enzi said the residents he’s talked with thus far remain concerned about the use of the federal checkbook and the perceived overreach of the Obama administration.

“Jobs, the economy and Obamacare pretty well summarize the big ones, but there are a whole bunch of little ones, too.” Enzi said. “County commissioners were concerned about the Department of Defense no longer being able to put out surplus fire engines because the EPA said that they didn’t have the pollution controls that were needed.”

“I got that reversed in about a week,” Enzi said.

The 70-year-old Enzi also said he possesses the right knowledge to make a return trip to Washington in 2015.

“I’ve got the experience, the trust, and it’s a critical time for our nation,” Enzi said. “We need to get the spending under control – I’ve got a penny plan that will do that, and biennial budgeting that would get us to a better situation with our spending.”

The Enzi campaign is scheduled to make stops in Cody, Lovell, Thermopolis and Worland on Friday, Douglas on Saturday and Sheridan on Sunday.

Enzi faces Thomas Bleming, Arthur Clifton, James ‘Coaltrain’ Gregory and Bryan E. Miller on Tuesday.
