Cheyenne East High School's new Okie Blanchard Sports Complex won't be ready for the Thunderbirds' season opening 4a football game against Casper Natrona on Friday night.

That game will instead be played at Cheyenne South High School, according to a release from Laramie County School District#1.

Concrete work wasn't completed this past weekend, and it looks now like the new $14 million dollar complex may not host it's first football game until September 19th, when East is scheduled to host Sheridan.

The Thunderbirds are schedule to host Cheyenne South on September 12th, but that game may have to be moved as well.

Friday night's East vs. Natrona game is a rematch of last season's 4a championship game. It's now scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday at Cheyenne South High School.
