Cheyenne East will advance to the next round of the state Class 4a football playoffs after handily defeating arch-rival Cheyenne Central 45-6 Friday night at Okie Blanchard Stadium in Cheyenne. The playoff victory completed a season-sweep of central by east, following a 42-28 east win during the regular season. East, the number 4 seed in Class 4a, will travel to Casper next weekend to take on number 1 seed and undefeated Casper Natrona, which mauled Rock Springs by a score of 54-7 on Friday. Other first round 4a playoff action saw number 2 seed Gillette defeat Evanston 42-16, and defending state champion and number 3 seed Sheridan trounce Casper Kelly-Walsh 35-14. Sheridan will travel to Gillette next weekend in playoff action.
