Don't stay in and play on the internet this summer. There is so much to do in and around Cheyenne and Laramie County, that will get you and the kids out and about this season.

Here are 5 things that you and your kids can do for a fun-filled summer and they're inexpensive and local.

  1. Paul Smith’s Children’s Village – If you are looking for indoor and outdoor activities, education, crafts, planting, and much more, this is the place to be. It is very kid-friendly and they have something going on almost everyday of the week.
  2. David R. Romero Youth Activity and Community Center – This adds a different dimension to fun. With their outdoor play yard consisting of slides, bars, swings and sand, they are sure to burn a lot of time and energy here. The center also has an indoor climbing wall, exercise bikes and is a great place to hold birthday parties.
  3. Wyoming State Museum – A great place for your kiddo to discover history, adventure and hand’s on fun. Don’t forget the unlimited photo opportunities with your child as they dress up and play the part of folks back in the old west. The cost is FREE.
  4. Curt Gowdy State Park – Where do I start? You’re only limited by your imagination on this one. Let me tease you with a few idea appetizer’s: camping, fishing, boating, hiking, swimming, cook-outs and a whole lot more.
  5. The Rodeo – Although not as inexpensive as the others, it’s still not too bad of a price. Every youngster should have the experience of bulls, horses and cowboys as they make their exit out of the shoots for some of the greatest rodeo in the world.

Maybe you know of fun and local things to do that you're kids have absolutely loved this year. Share them with the rest of us and enjoy the rest of your summer.
