Operation Back to School 2013 is officially underway, according to a spokeswoman for Laramie County School District #1.

Cindy Reynders says the drive aims to make sure students from low-income families in the area have the supplies they need for the upcoming school year. Reynders says items such as erasers, glue sticks, colored pencils, highlighters and other typical classroom materials are needed.

Reynders says donation bins are located at Cheyenne Light, Fuel and Power, F.E. Warren Air Force Base (several locations), Laramie County Community College, the Laramie County School District #1 Administration Building, Needs Inc. and the Super Walmart Store.

Reynders says besides donating school supplies, people can also make monetary donations. She says checks should be made out to Needs Inc. Attn: OBTS. Reynders says the items will be distributed to qualifying students August 14th-15th at the needs office at 900 Central Avenue.

Supplies will also be available throughout the school year. Families of students who want to qualify for the materials can also apply at the needs office.
