The Laramie County Victim Witness Program is seeking donations to help victims of crime in Laramie County.

"Not only are they victims of a crime, they're also worried about where their next meal is going to come from," said Victim Witness Coordinator Dory Clark. "We've seen this trend go on, especially throughout the last year, where there's just little to no food and non-food items in the home."

Clark says they're in need of food items such as canned goods, cereals, granola bars, fruit cups and snacks; and non-food items such as shampoo/conditioner, Kleenex, paper towels, feminine products and laundry soap.

"Often times we're running into victims that have babies and they're in need of diapers (sizes 2-5) and wipes," said Clark.

Collection boxes have been set up in the Laramie County Governmental Complex and at the Laramie County Sheriff's Department. Donations will be accepted through May 27.

"This is the first donation drive that we've done," said Clark. "We'd like to make it annual and we'd like to see it grow as well."
