THERMOPOLIS, Wyo. (AP) — A district attorney is accusing Wyoming Department of Corrections of releasing its inmates before the end of their sentences.

Natrona County District Attorney Mike Blonigen said Thursday, in some cases, he has seen inmates released after they served half their sentences.

Blonigen made his case while he spoke out against a bill the Joint Judiciary Committee sponsored in 2017.

When asked about the Blonigen’s claims, Board of Parole Director Dan Fetsco says he would be happy to review the files on the cases Blonigen mentioned. Wyoming Department of Corrections Deputy Directors Steve Lindly says his parole officers do not have time to write reports for Blonigen on everyone they supervise.
