Laramie County Fire District #2 responded to a grass fire Saturday morning.

Authorities say the fire was located east of 5503 North College Drive, about a quarter mile south of LCFD#2 station one.

According to a news release, the fire was started by a faulty extension cord that was lying in tall dry grass. Dry conditions and winds caused the fire to spread quickly, threatening nearby structures; however, no damage occurred. Two brush trucks, an engine and a tender were on scene to put out the two acre fire.

LCFD#2 officials would like to remind the public that high fuels along with hot and dry weather are creating prime conditions for grass and wildfires.
