Department of Workforce Services to Host Preference Act Seminar

The Wyoming Department of Workforce Services (DWS) Cheyenne Workforce Center will host a Preference Act Seminar in Cheyenne on Thursday, March 20, 2014. The Wyoming Preference Act gives Wyoming contractors an edge on bidding on public works projects. The law also gives residents preference over out-of-state workers seeking employment on public works projects.

According to a release from the Department of Workforce Services, the seminar will not address bidding processes. Instead, it will provide information and procedural steps regarding individual contractor responsibilities for employing Wyoming residents after contracts with Wyoming governmental entities have been awarded.

The seminar will be held Thursday, March 20 from 1 – 5:00 p.m. at the Cheyenne Workforce Center on Pershing Blvd. Room 1141.There is no cost to participate.
