Denver Residents Steal Car, Lead Authorities on High-Speed Pursuit

Two Denver residents are in custody after stealing a car and leading Colorado and Wyoming law enforcement on a high-speed pursuit.

At 7:50 a.m. Friday, the Larimer County Sheriff's Office alerted the Wyoming Highway Patrol to be on the lookout for a blue 2013 BMW 328i that had been stolen in Denver. The agency had been in pursuit of the vehicle, but lost it when the driver took some dirt roads in northern Colorado.

Wyoming Highway Patrol Sergeant David Wagener says a security feature in the BMW allowed troopers to locate the car approximately seven miles south of Laramie on U.S. 287 at 8:27 a.m. A high-speed pursuit then ensued, with speeds reaching around 135 m.p.h.

A deputy with the Albany County Sheriff's Office was able to successfully deploy stop sticks on the left front tire of the BMW approximately two miles south of Laramie, but the car continued east on I-80 at speeds of 110 m.p.h. before eventually exiting just east of Laramie.

The driver, 19-year-old Lantz Ream-Dickerson, and his passenger, 19-year-old Stephanie Millsaps, were arrested without incident and taken to the Albany County Detention Center.

Ream-Dickerson is currently being charged with possession of stolen property, eluding law enforcement, reckless driving and speeding as well as being held on a Colorado warrant for flight/escape. Millsaps was charged with possession of stolen property.
