Cheyenne Regional Medical Center has received the "Get With The Guidelines -Heart Failure Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award". from the American Heart Association.

The award recognizes CRMC for treating heart failure according to the guidelines of the heart association and the American College of Cardiology. The awarding of the "gold" category also recognizes CRMC for meeting those standards two consecutive years.

The heart association says using it's guidelines saves lives, improve the general quality of care for heart failure patients and reduces healthcare costs. Dr. M. Obadah Al Chekakie, a cardiac electrophysiologist  at CRMC, says the award should help local heart failure patients feel more confident about the level of care they will receive at the Cheyenne hospital.
