The President of the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center Board of Trustees hopes to name a new permanent CEO by the end of January.

That's according to Joe Evans, President of the hospital Board of Trustees, says over 400 people from around the country originally applied for the job.  Among the applicants for the job is Margo Karsten, who has been serving as interim CEO since September, when former CEO Dr. John Lucas retired.

Evans says the field of candidates is currently being narrowed down to between three and five. Evans says those candidates will be interviewed  in early January, after which the final two candidates will be selected.

Evans says the full Board of Trustees will interview the final two contenders on January 23, and hopes to name it's choice within the next few days after the interviews.
