Cheyenne Regional Medical Center CEO Margo Karsten says the hospital is planning a series of open houses to discuss billing issues with patients.

Karsten admits hospital bills can be complicated and difficult to understand, and says she wants to work on billing issues "until we get this right".

The first such event is slated for December 23 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in Auditorium B. The events will then be held on a weekly basis through the month of February.

She says hospital billing experts will be on hand to try to answer questions and address problems, with people free to drop by and discuss questions or concerns about their hospital bills.

She says at the end of February the hospital will evaluate the sessions to decide if they are helpful or if another approach to addressing billing issues might be more effective.
