Cheyenne Regional Medical Center has been recognized as being among the top hospitals in the nation for it's adoption of a new electronic medical record (EMR) system.

Hospital spokeswoman Kathy Baker says CRMC received a stage 6 rating for the system by HIMMS Analytics. That organization grades hospital medical records on a scale that runs in ascending order from 0 to 7.

Baker says only 10.2 percent of U.S. hospitals tracked by HIMMS received a score of 6. She says achieving that rating requires meeting a stringent set of criteria, including having a significant advantage over competitors in patient safety as well as support and recruitment of clinicians.
