The Cheyenne Regional Medical Center Lobby renovation project is almost finished, and the lobby is set to re-open soon. The original date was set for December 8, but hospital officials say it may not happen on that date.

The $4 million dollar project has kept the lobby put of commission since May, with portions of House and 23rd Streets directly in front of the lobby closed as well.

Jesse Struckhoff, Project Management Office and Strategic Development Director for the hospital, says visitors to the new lobby will find a much larger, more open space with a much improved seating capacity.

He says among other changes will be a new cafe known as "Cafe 214". The new lobby will also include a new and larger gift shop and easier access to the emergency department and the main hospital.

Struckhoff says in general the new lobby features a less crowded feel with an "easier flow" to the rest of the facility.
